The SOAS Rebetiko Band plays the song "Apo xeno topo", a traditional song based on a tune that is found in all countries of the Balkans and Anatolia, a melody that is shared also with the Turkish song "Üsküdar". Here it is a love song about a beautiful girl who came from a foreign place. We were joined by guest musician Ozan Baysal on saz.
