Description
Prisoners is a song born out of the emotional silence common to people from our grandparents' generation. The Great Depression, followed by WWII, turned life into a game of survival. Consequently, prisons of quiet desperation were their legacy played out in the following generations.

Lyrics:
The desert forgets the rain, all we know is what we've seen,
Silence has become the way we speak, 'cuz silence is all we think we need.
You're so afraid that my heart's on my sleeve. You don't see that my heart can't breathe.
The ghost of my grandfather haunts this house and makes us all prisoners,
Love don't come easy, but I never knew how screwed up it could be.
When I feel pain, I cut it off. The things I have seen, I shut the door.
I don't want to walk through these halls anymore, but I've never seen the place I'm looking for.
You're so afraid that my heart's on my sleeve. You don't see that my heart can't breathe.
The ghost of my grandfather haunts this house and makes us all prisoners,
Love don't come easy, but I never knew how screwed up it could be.
It's been years, but I still remember when you said that you were done with it.
Like a game you play, then the fascination fades, so you put up the gloves, and then you quit.
Many times I have prayed that we would break this silence curse. You and I, we don't see we're both held prisoners.
The ghost of my grandfather haunts this house and makes us all prisoners,
Love don't come easy, but I never knew how screwed up it could be.
We're both held prisoners...
