After the resounding success for the Another Decade of Funk Remixed compilation, we have decided to wrap it all up in a bow and deliver yet another present to celebrate the 20th anniversary, a continuous DJ mix of all the killer remixes in one. This mix flows just as you would expect from a Fort Knox Five DJ set, starting with the more hip hop and funk flavors and building all the way to prime time peak rave! Put this mix on and get ready for a funk-da-fied journey!

The DJ mix features tracks from FK5’s second decade with remixes from FK5’s sophomore studio album, Pressurize The Cabin, including The Funk Hunters hands-in-the-air remix of “Whatcha Gonna Do”, SkiiTour’s house anthem flip of “Fire in my Belly”, Farid’s Latin Disco remix of “Cinco to the Brinco” and the deep desert vibes of Sabo’s “Mission to the Sitars”.

K+lab turned the 70’s funk of “Don’t Go” (feat. D.C’s funk legend Sir Joe Quarterman) into a retro bass fueled floor burner. With epic big builds and organic drum fills, Stickybuds remix of “Give it a Minute” rides the line between electro, glitch-hop and classic funk. Megan Hamilton pushes the mid-tempo wobble of “Keep the Funk Real” into a funky, chunky, bubbling bouncer and TWOGOOD flip the mid-tempo laid back hip hop of “Start the Ride” into a high energy, 303-laced funky house banger.

The Allergies transform the hip-hop anthem “Insight” into a hard funk track with retro-heavy guitars and crunchy beats. Krafty Kuts injects the Bossa Nova swagger of “The Brazilian Hipster” with some seriously fat beats and bass creating a certified bomb. The Sponges take the breaks meets P-Funk vibe of “The Party Pushers” and weave in some dirty synths and party chants into their House remix and Pineo & Loeb hit a blazing home run with their vocal heavy funky house remix of “Keep it Poppin’. And “Dodge City Rockers” gets a funky breaks update from Basement Freaks, full of horns and old school flavors. The Gaff turns “Funk 4 Peace” into an 808 bass fueled hip hop track and Lou E. Bagels gives us a modern beefed up House remix of the original dancehall meets breaks track “Killa Sound Boy.”

It’s only appropriate that Fort Knox Five would take the 16 tracks on Another Decade of Funk Remixed and combine them into one seamless DJ mix. Stalwarts of the old school scene, and major supporters of DJ culture along the way, Fort Knox Five was started, owned and operated by DJs. By weaving together all 16 remixes into one musical journey, this continuous DJ mix truly has all the feels.
