In TONNTA, a separated father (Laurence Kinlan) and his young daughter (Doireann McNally) set off on a modest weekend getaway that becomes an unexpected journey of reconnection and joy. Their holiday—a mix of small, familiar moments like seaside swims, cramped mobile homes, and trips to the arcade—starts out with a sense of awkwardness, as the two navigate the distance that time and circumstance have put between them. Initially tentative, they gradually break through the silence with shared laughter, playful jabs, and moments of quiet understanding. Each scene reveals more of the father-daughter bond, a dynamic that grows as they let go of everyday worries to enjoy this precious time together.
