My modern songwriting era started on New Year’s Eve 2011 when I finished “Help Someone Today.” I recorded it anew this week to post this New Year’s Eve, but upon finishing I found the lyrics rather preachy, so I looked to my website song list for something else and immediately landed on this one — a tune I wrote in February 2017 to celebrate the graduation of several nieces and nephews. As I finished the lyrics, I found this song worked equally well as God’s advice for us as we start making our own decisions — which explains its title, “Agape,” God’s deep love for his children.

I took a soft approach in playing this, trying to find that perfect volume for this Zoom recorder. As a result I strain bit to reach the high notes. Hopefully you’ll forgive that!
