Description
The Kern-Hammerstein score for the 1932 musical "Music In The Air" produced this future standard as well as "I’ve Told Every Little Star." While still a member of the Tommy Dorsey band, Sinatra recorded his first four sides as a top-billed solo artist, released by Victor on its subsidiary Bluebird label. They were conducted by Dorsey arranger Axel Stordahl, who would later follow “The Voice” over to Columbia Records to become his long-time primary arranger-conductor.
Audio from CD source, the original 78rpm single was issued on Bluebird B-11515 - The Song Is You (Oscar Hammerstein II-Jerome Kern) by Frank Sinatra, orchestra conducted by Axel Stordahl, recorded January 19, 1942 .
